Outside the Osu Library. It is named for Kathy Knowles. She is from Canada and an author of children's books. She came here a few years ago and began this library. Since then, she has established several other libraries in different locations in Ghana. A few of the Senior Sister Missionaries have established a relationship with the librarians and have helped them in numerous ways. Every Wednesday morning a couple of the Sisters have been going there to read to the children. So now I am going with them as well. It has been wonderful.
Outside the library.
The library is very small, but well organized and clean.
These are some of the kids in our reading group. Diana, Samuel, and Joe, on the right, are volunteers at the library.
Outside the library, these stumps, beautifully painted, provide places for the children to sit during activities. The tables are also decorated with board games for learning and fun.
That sounds a rewarding opportunity to be involved in. Very humble conditions from the looks of it. Those kids are lucky to have you both there and I'm sure you are gaining so much from it as well.
